When Tirzah is not busy with 2 goats + 2 acres, you can find her tending to her 10 pets (4 rescue dogs, 3 formerly stray cats, 2 goats and a guinea pig), teaching a class of spirited young children or hiking a new trail.

Diane E. Curtis grew up on a dairy farm and began cooking around six years old. Her love of ancient history led her to a B.A. in Roman History from KSU, and a Master of Theological Studies in Islamic Studies from Emory University, Candler School of Theology. But her love of food and farming focused her studies on the culinary and agricultural history of the ancient Mediterranean.
Diane then engaged in experimental archaeology, translating and recreating ancient recipes using ancient methods, and interpreting them with modern ingredients and methodology. This led to a food history blog and eventually her current occupation, Chef/Owner of MarRay Foods LLC, a specialty foods company focused on bringing the flavors of the ancient Mediterranean forward to modern times and palates.
